Alienware M17x R3 Review

When it comes to alienware, then its all about gaming, power, performance, awesomeness. This is the review for the new alienware M17x R3 laptop. This laptop has new features compared to old M17x.
"Dell offers customization of parts before purchasing so I will tell you which parts are the best for the price and performance".
Base Model Price: $ 1,499.00
CPU:
This laptop comes with three options on Intel CPUs, the best ever i7-2630QM, i7-2720QM and i7-2820QM. I would go with the 2630QM as it has a base of 2.00GHz with quad cores and turbo at 2.90GHz which is capable of handling anything you throw at it.
Select: i7-2630QM CPU

OS:
It comes with Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System which you will be satisfied with.
There are options to upgrade to professional and Ultimate, but we will go with Home Premium.
Select: Home Premium OS
Memory:
The M17x has fast 1333MHz memory 4GB, this is good enough as this is a gaming laptop and won't require more than 6GB of memory. I would go with 4 GB of memory in it.
Select: 4GB 1333MHz Memory
GPU:
This is the main advantage of the Alienware, it has an included Radeon 6870M GPU which is a beast, but if you want more gaming power you have always choice to customize in Dell before buying, I recommend the GTX 460M but the Radeon 6970M also would be the best of the best. So we would go for the GTX 460M seeing it can handle any games till date.
Select: 1.5 GB GTX 460M GPU for extra 75 $.
HDD:
HDD is at 7200 RPM which is standard nd also comes with RAID 0 performance. 320GB is inbuilt in the M17x but we would go with 750GB for an extra 100 $
Select: 750 GB HDD for extra 100 $
LCD Panel:
The standard resolution that this M17x comes with is 1600 X 900 pixels which isn't the best, we would go for the 1920 X 1080 Pixels for an extra 150 $, for another 100 $ you can get a 3D screen.
Select: Full HD 1920 X 1080 pixels  LCD Panel for extra 100$

So these are the main parts we have mentioned here. The other specs include colour and other parts such as DVD and BD.

Intel i5-2500K is the best

Intel i5-2500K CPU is rated on the top of the ranks for the price for performance it gives out. It is the only quad core CPU which can hit a monster 5 GHz clock speed in just some clicks. The overclocking capability and the quad cores at  just 220$ make it the best CPU for the first half of 2011. Lets see what AMD Bulldozer rolls out to challenge the mighty i5 CPU.
