Laptops vs Desktops

This is the most common questions mostly when a person needs a new computer or someone coming into computers for the first time. Well if you own a laptop and also a desktop then you will know.
So lets start the comparison:-
1. Performance
"This is the mother of requirements"

Lets start with comparing the CPUs. The quad core CPUs are most popular in the start of this new decade. So the main difference between them is clock speed and heat generation. Desktop PCs have hit as high as 5 GHz after overclocking and have room to let out the heat generated. This is one point the heat generation, if you put the same processor in laptop then the heat generated will burn the laptop. Laptops aren't equiped with high end cooling systems. So basically the high clock speed at low price makes the desktop better than laptop. The same is with GPUs in them, GPUs are also one of the most heat releasing hardware which require much cooling. That is why laptops cannot give high graphics performance than desktops. So if you need a gaming machine then desktop is what you should look for.
2. Price
"Not everyone can get the best of the best"
Desktops beat the laptops in this comparison. Desktops just walk over laptops when you consider price. A 1000$ Gaming Desktop can easily perform better than a 2000$ laptop. Reason? Laptops small parts are pretty complex and costly. Laptops still have to evolve much into reliable systems.

3. Mobility
"I can take my PC every where I go"
This is the only point where laptops beat desktops. If you are looking to take your PC wherever you go then laptop is the perfect choice. Laptops today also come very light in weight considering the performance they give. So it is very good to carry them for far distance.

Conclusion:
An Average Desktop will score 7/10 while an average laptop will 4/10.
