Intel i7-2600k and i7-2500k Comparison

This comparison is deeply dependent on what you will be using the PC for, lets say Gaming as it is the most common use mostly.
If you are limited to gaming and absolutely no other work, the i5-2500k is the best option to get.
Well WHY? is the first question from the buyer.
The reason to buy 2500k instead of 2600k if you are using the PC only for gaming as it will give the same performance as the 2600k for the gaming needs.
How will it give same performance?
The answer is simple, the 2600k is 4 (quad) core with 3.40 GHz base clock with a turbo boost technology of 3.80 GHz with 8 Threads i.e with hyper-threading technology which is useful only if you are going to do heavy multi-tasking. The i5-2500k has almost the same specs with quad core CPU, 4 thread, no-hyper-threading technology adn a 3.30 GHz base and 3.70 GHz turbo clock.
Intel have charged more 100$ for only this Hyper-threading technology which gives only 20 to 30 percent extra performance.
This hyper-threading does not matter if you are using only games, but if you are running other apps like photoshop, VMware, dual games at a time, then yes 2600k beats the 2500k.
The 2600k is also 315$, i.e 100$ more compared to 2500k.

Conclusion:-
So its basically as simple as that, if you only want to play games and not other heavy duty apps then go for the 2500k and if you want to run many heavy multiple apps at the same moment with games then get the 2600k.
